About us
Takadai Meadows is owned and operated by a group of Hokkaido and overseas residents.
The farm is the brain child of local Hokkaido entrepreneur and owner of RidgeRunner Architectural Design & Development Simon Jackson; Perth-based entrepreneur and former Japan-resident Jim Poignand; and Micko O’Byrne, one of Australia’s best known rural development specialists and a key figure in promoting sustainable tourism in the Margaret River wine district.
The farm’s operation and planting is directed by experienced organic farm manager Dennis van den Brink. Planning and words of wisdom are provided by Yasunori Homma.
Sasa-control by green-thumb extraordinaire Jennifer who prefers farming to his former job of policing in Manila (If you were wondering, Jennifer’s father really, really wanted to name his first-born Jennifer). Lifting heavy things and shifting holes is done by unwilling worker on organic farms, Nick assisted by pet goat Nikki.
